CFCS provides specialized in-home and field-based outreach services to support children and families struggling through a particularly difficult issue. Drawing on expertise in the areas of adoption, protective services, adolescent services, conflict mediation, and developmental disabilities, the primary objective of CFCS’ Family Support and Stabilization Program is to prevent children from being placed out of the home and put in the state foster care system.

In partnership with DCF, staff provide intensive, time-limited, home-based services to children and families. These highly focused interventions strengthen the family unit and help the family remain self-sufficient. Services include providing access to community resources as well as creatively addressing conflicts between family members.
