Predictable Sustainable Support

While much has changed since our founding in 1873, and our supporters are no longer asked to shovel snow or knit caps for orphans, many things have remained the same. Children still need permanent homes, adolescents need shelter and guidance, and families parenting children with disabilities need us at their side. While support for CFCS from foundations, United Way and state agencies fluctuate from year-to-year, support from individual donors deeply committed to CFCS has not wavered in over 130 years.

The Huntington and Legacy Societies invite the involvement and generosity of donors to provide predictable sustainable support with multi-year financial commitments and in turn to have a significant impact on CFCS’ future capacity to respond to the most pressing needs faced by future generations of children and families.

The Huntington Society
Making a Sustaining Annual Leadership Gift

Originally founded by Harvard Square businessman, James Huntington as the Avon Home, an orphanage for local children, Cambridge Family and Children’s Service has been meeting the critical need of children and families for over 130 years. Huntington’s strong commitment to his community coupled with his persuasive nature attracted other like-minded visionary supporters.

Society members are today’s visionaries – generous sustaining donors who support CFCS’ adaptive capacity for cutting edge programs and services.

Members of the Huntington Society will receive invitations to special annual recognition dinners for leadership donors as well as special invitations to our guest speaker series and VIP receptions. All Huntington Society donors will be prominently listed in CFCS publications (with permission).

The Legacy Society
Planning for the Future – Including CFCS in Your Will

You can join CFCS’ Legacy Society by making provisions to include CFCS in your will. Donors who make legacy gifts are ensuring that financial resources will continue to be available to help CFCS better meet the programmatic needs of our clients.

Members of the Society will be recognized for their generous leadership gifts as well as their civic vision and dedication to improving the lives of others. By planning now for a Legacy gift, you will be giving CFCS the ability to better respond to the most pressing needs future generations will face.

Upon notifying us that you have named CFCS in your will, you will receive a year of complimentary invitations to special events including our annual recognition dinner for leadership donors and tickets to our guest speaker series and VIP receptions. All Legacy Society donors will be prominently listed in CFCS publications (with permission).

Please notify our Development Office when you have named CFCS in your estate planning as we would like the opportunity to thank you for your generosity.
