The disability program is designed to provide some financial protection if you cannot work due to an illness or injury that is not work related. The disability benefit is only for your illness/injury. Once your request for a medical leave of absence has been approved, while you are unable to work you may receive 60% pay for up to 22 weeks. Approval of any such payments are dependent upon your ability to meet insurance carrier requirements.
