Cambridge Family and Children’s Service (CFCS) is one of the oldest human services agencies in Greater Boston. Founded in 1873 as the Avon Home, an orphanage for local children, Cambridge Family and Children’s Service (CFCS) has a long and distinguished history of serving children, adolescents and families initially in the Cambridge area and more recently in Greater Boston and its suburbs.
Today CFCS provides adoption, foster and group care, developmental disabilities services, volunteer mentoring and community-based programs to support children and youth and to strengthen families in many cities and towns throughout Massachusetts.
